Democratic Schadenfreude?

Over at FromWhereISit.org, it is suggested that
(t)he Democrats are doing everything they can to make sure the United States abandons the Iraqis to sectarian slaugther and ethnic cleansing.
That’s more than a bit of a stretch. It’s all too easy to see motives where none really exist. Sure, a majority of Democrats are (finally) voicing disdain over our Iraqi entanglement, but to suggest it’s the goal, NAY, the EEEEvil plot of the Dems to see that country fall further into chaos is going too far.
Though Dem officeholders may take a bit too much pleasure at seeing their GOP counterparts foundering, I’d like to think they would reign that in, in recognition of our dead and wounded service men and women. And as for us rank-and-file Dems, we’d be happy to sell our vote to the Devil if he’d agree to a reasonable withdrawel plan.
As for the ethnic mess unfolding, seriously, did anybody NOT see this coming from the start? I heard plenty of people early on urging the divide-’em-up route. Splitting the land is easy. Splitting the oil would be the bigger of thejobs.
My bottom line is:
1. We shouldn’t even be in Iraq, but since we went…
2. We should have used overwhelming force to obtain our objectives, but since we didn’t…
3. We should get out, and pay the international community a ton of money to sweep up our mess.
It would definitely be cheaper in U.S. cacsualties, and probably moneywise too.
